I grew up in Christchurch and studied medicine at Otago University, graduating in 1990. I spent 3 years as a junior doctor in smaller centres around New Zealand, then returned to Christchurch to train in childrens health, before making the transition to general practice in 1996. I joined the Cashmere Health team in 2007 and thoroughly enjoy working in this vibrant, dedicated, and professional environment. For me, the appeal of general practice is its unique opportunity to get to know families over many years and I continue to feel privileged when a new patient invites me to share in their health journey.
Outside of work, my husband and I love to escape to Kenepuru Sound, where we are off the grid in a native bush setting. We are empty nesters, but are fortunate to have our three young adult offspring living locally for now. We love staying connected with them over weekend family dinners and summer holidays in the Sounds.
